From the wild plains of Australia, with its far-flung horizons, jagged mountains, all-consuming bushfires and unpredictable floods, comes a unique book that speaks about the great love for an adopted homeland and the undeniable bond between the horse and its rider.

The book, “Horses, Riders, Mountains and Plains”, contains a selection of three poems written around 130 years ago by the acclaimed Australian poet, Banjo Paterson, and translated into German for the first time by Arthur Cropley.

The bilingual English/German book is accompanied by stunning works of art done by the Romanian illustrator, Bogdan Gărgăriță, resulting in a wonderful mixture of cultures.

The verses tell the story of the almost legendary figures of the bushmen and their loyal horses, without which the drovers’ work would have been impossible. The three ballads speak about the inner strength of these men and their resilience against all odds in life and tell the story of their love and passion for riding and the wild power of nature.

The book is made up of 48 pages, with 9 spread illustrations, thread sewn 170 g paper, hardcover. The format of the book is 21 x 21 cm (8.27 x 8.27 inches).
